Made for American Customers
We make handcrafted yurts for customers in the United States. Each one is built in our own workshop and prepared for international freight.
Our yurts are made with natural chestnut wall frames and roof poles, solid oak crowns and carefully fitted covers, insulation, doors and windows.
You can choose between a canvas-only yurt, an insulated yurt or one of our distinctive Glass Wall yurts. We can help you choose a suitable size and specification before preparing an individual estimate and freight quotation.
Our First Yurt in the USA
In 2016 we shipped our first yurt to the United States.
It was an 18 foot insulated yurt with a natural chestnut frame, wool felt insulation, an inner liner and a traditional eight-spoke oak crown.
The yurt also included one of our handcrafted opening wooden windows. Its owners assembled it at their site in California and began using it as their home.

Handcrafted Yurts Made in Europe
Yurt Workshop has been making yurts since 2005. Each frame is built in our own workshop rather than bought as a completed structure from another manufacturer.
Natural chestnut is used for the lattice walls and roof poles, while the central crown is handcrafted from solid oak.
The doors, windows and Glass Wall sections are made to work with the circular structure of the yurt. This gives us control over the materials, workmanship and finished specification.
Canvas-Only Yurts
Canvas-only yurts use the same natural chestnut frame and solid oak crown as the rest of our range, but do not include wool felt insulation or an inner liner.
They are suitable for seasonal accommodation, studios, garden spaces, events and warmer-weather use.
Insulated Yurts
Our insulated yurts include natural wool felt insulation, a bright fire-retardant inner liner and an additional canvas roof cover.
They are suitable for homes, guest accommodation, studios, retreats and other uses where greater comfort is needed through changing seasons.
Glass Wall Yurts
Glass Wall yurts are insulated yurts with fitted glass doors, windows and wall panels made to work with the circular frame.
They bring more natural light into the interior, open up wider views and create a stronger connection with the surrounding landscape.
Yurt Sizes
We make yurts from 10 feet to 24 feet in diameter, with several intermediate sizes.
Smaller yurts work well as guest rooms, treatment rooms and studios. Medium sizes offer more space for accommodation and living. Larger yurts can be used for yoga, retreats, classrooms, workshops and group activities.
Shipping a Yurt to the USA
A completed yurt can be packed for international freight and shipped by air or sea.
The cost depends on the yurt size, specification, packed volume, destination and the freight service available at the time.
We therefore obtain an individual freight quotation once the yurt specification and delivery location are known.
Local import charges, customs clearance, taxes and onward delivery within the United States are not included unless they are specifically shown in the quotation.
The Yurt Platform
The yurt requires a level circular platform prepared before the structure arrives.
The platform is normally built locally because sending a complete floor structure across the Atlantic would add considerable weight and freight cost.
We can provide the required diameter and practical information for the chosen yurt size.
Yurt Prices
The price depends on the diameter, frame specification, covers, insulation, doors, windows and Glass Wall arrangement.
Our guide prices are shown in euros and pounds. We prepare an individual estimate for American customers, with international freight quoted separately.
How to Order
Begin by telling us where the yurt will be delivered, how you plan to use it, the approximate diameter and whether you are considering a canvas-only, insulated or Glass Wall yurt.
We will help you work through the main options and prepare a detailed estimate.
A 50% deposit confirms the order and reserves the yurt within our workshop schedule. The remaining balance is due one week before dispatch.
The freight quotation can then be confirmed using the final packed size and delivery information.
Bespoke Yurts
We also undertake bespoke projects involving different wall heights, door and window arrangements, Glass Wall sections and finishes.
Not every modification is appropriate for every size, but we will consider the intended use and explain what is practical.
